Visiting Kentmere

Kentmere Parking

Parking spaces in Kentmere are at a premium. There are a few spaces beside the Kentmere Institute – OS grid reference: NY 45601 04114; nearest postcode: LA8 9JL – but that is all and they are often taken by 8 am.

Please do not park on the road or in passing places as it makes the road too narrow for farm vehicles and the emergency services.  Please also avoid parking in field gateways – farmers need these to be kept clear at all times.

On Saturday the 21st March there were 38 cars in the field. At the end of the day only 18 had paid.

I suggest that if you want this facility to be available in the future that you pay the asked fee of £5 per car by cash or BACS.

Kentmere Post Office

Emergencies

Please call the ambulance immediately on 999 and Kentmere’s First Responders will be called out automatically if it is appropriate. There is a defibrillator available at the Kentmere Institute which is located at: What3Words: slipping.alcove.preparing; OS grid reference: NY 45581 04130; nearest postcode: LA8 9JL .  See next section for phone signal and WiFi.

Mobile Phone Signal and WiFi

Until recently there was no mobile phone coverage over much of the valley but this is changing.  An EE signal has now been detected in some areas, and other mobile services may also be available in places.
There is a WiFi signal available outside the Kentmere Institute which is located at : What3Words: slipping.alcove.preparing; OS grid reference: NY 45581 04130; nearest postcode: LA8 9JL. The WiFi access code is: Kentmere123 (also shown on a sign in the window).
