The River Kent flows from its headwaters, just south of High Street, (at 2718 feet above sea level, the highest mountain in the Far Eastern section of the Lake District Fells), in a generally southerly direction to reach the sea in the Kent Estuary. Kentmere is about two miles south of the head waters of the River Kent. The postcodes of the village are LA8 9JL and LA8 9JP. Kentmere lies in Cumbria, in what used to be Westmorland. The O.S. map reference of the centre of the Jumb Falls is: NY 459 043 The Jumb Falls are about 200 metres above sea level.
